Shawn holds a Master of Library and Information Science. He invested his training and expertise to manage the board’s $9.5 million budget and lead critical DEI initiatives that have opened more equitable access to EPL resources.
Shawn advocated for an innovative funding strategy to benefit all Evanston PTAs and the students they support by leveraging the PTAs’ collective resources, expertise, and funding to address districtwide inequities.
Shawn led the Club's fight to end food insecurity by steering funds to organizations that provide free meals for vulnerable Evanstonians and supporting Evanston’s wrap-around task force whose mission is to provide comprehensive, holistic supports for those in need.
